The purpose of this organization shall be to promote moral, intellectual, and democratic living among members of this organization and the college through membership and leadership in college activities, and to cooperate with the administration in the maintenance of high social standards, and to stimulate social attitudes and behavior in all aspects of college life.

The Alpha chapter of our sorority was formed in 1892 as the Agonian Fraternity in Geneseo, NY. Our chapter was granted admission at the 31st Annual Convention of the Agonian Fraternity held at Cortland, NY, on May 2, 1924.  There were thirty-six founding members.

We are the oldest sorority on campus and are known as Ago’s on campus and among our chapters.

Our history of tradition has kept the feeling of sisterhood thriving for over seventy five years. The sisters of Alpha Kappa Phi are diverse, yet our sorority enables us to come together to become leaders, better individuals, and contributing members of the community.

Our sorority flower is the yellow rose; our stone is the pearl; the Greek Inscription is ponoumen agein ... Friends Forever. Our symbol is the anchor, which represents the security you will find in the strength of Ago. Our colors are blue, gold, and white.

In Ago, you know you'll not only have a friend, but a sister standing beside you. Walk through the doors of the Ago house and feel the warmth and laughter of sisters past and present.
